Job Duties: As an NHS Registered Nurse, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Patient Care: Provide compassionate and competent care to patients in various healthcare settings, including hospitals, clinics, and community health centres.
- Assessment: Conduct thorough assessments of patients' health conditions, including physical, psychological, and social aspects, to develop individualized care plans.
- Medication Administration: Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by healthcare professionals, ensuring accurate dosages and proper administration techniques.
- Monitoring: Continuously monitor patients' vital signs, symptoms, and response to treatment, promptly reporting any changes or concerns to the medical team.
- Clinical Procedures: Perform various clinical procedures, such as wound care, injections, catheterization, and intravenous therapy, with precision and adherence to infection control protocols.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including medical histories, assessments, care plans, and progress notes, to facilitate comprehensive patient care.
- Education: Educate patients and their families about their medical conditions, treatment options, and self-care techniques to promote health and well-being.
- Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary healthcare teams, including doctors, therapists, and support staff, to ensure coordinated and holistic patient care.
- Emergency Response: Respond swiftly and competently in emergency situations, providing life-saving interventions and initiating appropriate emergency protocols.
- Patient Advocacy: Advocate for patients' rights and preferences, ensuring they receive respectful and patient-centered care at all times.
- Infection Control: Strictly adhere to infection control practices and maintain a safe and hygienic environment for patients and staff.
- Professional Development: Stay current with advancements in nursing practice, participate in training and continuing education opportunities, and maintain professional licensure and certifications.
- Quality Improvement: Contribute to quality improvement initiatives by participating in audits, data collection, and performance improvement projects to enhance patient care outcomes.
- Compliance: Adhere to all NHS policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, ensuring ethical and legal nursing practice.
Requirements:
- BSc in Nursing Degree
- Experience preferred minimum 1 year.
- Home Country Nursing registration
- English Language Proficiency
- Drivers preferred.
- You must be over 18 to apply (branch dependant)
- Have the right to work in the UK.
- Flexibility on travel - some shifts may require you to drive or have access to public transport (Branch Dependant)
- A good standard of English and the ability to communicate effectively.
- An enhanced DBS, which you can apply for upon registration.
